Intern Job description

TITLE:  SPORTS MARKETING/SPORTS INFORMATION INTERNSHIPS

PLACE:  Albany Twilight Baseball League – Albany, NY (Bleecker Stadium)

LOCATION:  Interns will be permitted to work from home on a daily basis and at the field on occasion

SUPERVISOR:  League Board of Directors

TERM:  May 15 thru August 15

APPLY DEADLINE:  April 14   ** Internships below can be blended or applied separately

HOURS:  10-12 hours per week or determined by academic requirements

RENUMERATION:  School credit and commission on advertising/sponsorship sales

 INTERNSHIP #1:  League Webmaster

     –Maintain league web site with schedule updates, game scores, standings, photo album and short articles pertinent to current season

INTERNSHIP #2:  League Sports Information Coordinator

-develop online photo album and PowerPoint using season photos

-Promote league stats/standings throughout season using Facebook, Twitter

-Write and design Weekly League Report (1 page report)

-Lead game management efforts 1-2 times/week (scoreboard, music, promotions, program, etc)

-Update Twitter & Facebook page daily with game results, stats, news, etc.

-Develop league database with players, coaches, alumni, fans, media for weekly emails

-Maintain league leaderboard with stats tracked by League President

-Input statistics from each game on a weekly basis

INTERNSHIP #3:  League Advertising/Sponsorship Coordinator

-Sell sponsorship/advertising for league yearbook, outfield signage, and/or lg tournaments

-Receive commission on sales of all advertising/sponsorship

ABOUT THE ALBANY TWILIGHT LEAGUE

The Albany Twilight League is a summer amateur/semi-pro baseball league for players 18 years and older. It is the oldest league in the country in existence since 1931. The league has seen dozens of players over its 82 years of existence go on to enjoy professional baseball careers and some return after their pro careers to extend their playing days. The majority of current players are either playing college ball or have played collegiately, and participate in the league each summer to hone their skills and aspire to play professionally. The league is looking for an individual who enjoys baseball and is studying sports management/marketing (or web maintenance) to be the lead person in promoting the current season.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be proficient in web site management, maintenance (if applying for internship #1)
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, email, Publisher (or similar app to be able to put together certain documents)
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be flexible
  • Must communicate efficiently and be responsive via email, phone or text
  • Must have experience or interest in baseball or sports in general
  • Ability to work from home and be self motivated

 

Museum of the Moving Image

INTERNSHIPS

SUMMER 2015

JUNE 8–AUGUST 14

Museum of the Moving Image offers full-time, paid summer internships. Under the supervision of department heads, interns have the opportunity to learn about the full range of Museum operations. Undergraduates entering their senior year in fall 2015, college graduates, and graduate students are eligible to apply.

The Museum’s offices are open Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Collection Curatorial: Intern will assist with researching a new, major acquisition for the Museum’s collection, and with general research support into recent and pending acquisitions.

Development: Intern will assist with the administrative needs of the development and membership department, including but not limited to research, data entry, and mailings, as well as event planning.

Film: Intern will assist in research, preparation, and implementation of film screenings and discussion programs, and with various web projects and publications. Intern will also assist with research for installations and exhibitions.

Institutional Archive: Intern will assist with a comprehensive inventory of the Institutional Archive, which contains documents, photographs, brochures, and products created by the Museum throughout its 30 year history.
