Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in Rensselaer NY (about 1000 employees) is seeking an intern for a paid position.

Project Description (job expectations):

The current format of standard operating procedures (SOP) may lead to procedures being interpreted differently from individual to individual. In several cases, differences in interpretation of these procedures could have an impact to the process.

The intern will be required to review and understand the current structure of the SOP’s used in commercial manufacturing. The intern will interact and collaborate with the additional five commercial manufacturing interns to design and propose a new format of a SOP that includes visual aids.

This project will require in depth learning and observation of multiple process steps across all commercial manufacturing suites. The intern will also learn about the regulations and control associated with changes across the business. Following the proposal of the new SOP format, the interns will be expected to be part of the team to update the SOP’s and see the project through change control, work flow and implementation.
In addition to a science background, commercial manufacturing is looking for a variety of educational backgrounds (Life Sciences / Engineering / Graphic Design / Communication). The majority of the SOP’s used in commercial manufacturing are written by individuals with a scientific background. By incorporating multiple backgrounds, we will be able to obtain different views in writing style and comprehension
